The violin is played using both hands. There are two parts to a violin, the bow and the violin itself. The bow is held in the right hand while the violin is held in the left. The bow is made from wood and horse hair. Cheaper bows often use synthetic material instead of horsehair.
To play the violin you must draw the bow gently across the strings. For strong beats, pull the bow in a downward motion, and for weak beats pull bow in an upward motion.
There are 3 ways to change the note a string makes:
- Loosening or tighting the tuning pegs
- Each string offers a different sound, the thickest string makes the lowest sound.
- Using fingers to press down on string
